Anansi's Riddle - Official Rules

1. It is free
No purchase, payment, deposit, fee, or token holding is necessary to enter or to win. Entering costs nothing. Holding ANANSI is not required to play, does not change how any answer is scored, and does not change your odds of winning any prize. Any holder perks are cosmetic or informational and never affect scoring.
2. Who can play
Anyone 18 or older with a Farcaster account, where such contests are lawful. Void where prohibited. One Farcaster account per person; one entry per account per riddle. Duplicate, automated, or shared accounts may be removed from the leaderboard and from prize eligibility.
3. How it works
- One riddle a day about a live data feed (for example the Crypto Fear & Greed index, Ethereum gas, the Bitcoin mempool, the planetary Kp index, worldwide earthquake counts, or the Bitcoin and Ethereum reference rates).
- Each riddle states when entries close and when it resolves. Answers are final once submitted.
- Riddles resolve automatically from the same data feeds Anansi Data publishes, read at the stated resolution time.
4. Scoring
- Two-choice riddles: 10 points for a correct answer, 0 otherwise.
- Number riddles: 30 points for an exact answer; 20 within 2; 12 within 5; 5 within 10; 0 otherwise.
- Streaks: each consecutive scoring day adds 10% to that day's points, up to a maximum of 2x. A non-scoring day resets the streak. A void riddle does not affect a streak.
5. Void riddles
A riddle is void if the resolving feed has no usable reading, if the reading is stale, or if the result is an exact tie. A void riddle awards no points to anyone and leaves every streak unchanged. Results are never estimated or filled in by hand.
6. Prizes
- Prizes are awarded weekly to the top-ranked players on the weekly leaderboard (Monday 00:00 UTC to Sunday 23:59 UTC).
- Prizes consist of Anansi Data API credits and may also include an amount of ANANSI tokens. The exact prizes for each week are announced in advance at anansidata.xyz/r and in the Anansi Data Telegram channel. Where no ANANSI amount is announced, the prize is API credits only.
- ANANSI is a token with no promised cash value. Prizes have no cash alternative and are not transferable to another account.
- To receive an ANANSI prize a winner must provide a Base network address. Prizes are delivered within 7 days of the week's end.
- Ties on points are broken by number of correct answers, then by earliest final answer of the week.
7. Fair play
The operator may disqualify entries that use multiple accounts, automation, or any exploit, and may correct a leaderboard where an error is found. In a dispute the operator's determination is final. Contact: the Anansi Data Telegram channel or the address on anansidata.xyz.
8. Privacy
The game stores your Farcaster ID, your chosen answers, and the display name and avatar your Farcaster client provides. Nothing else. Leaderboards show display names.
9. Not investment advice
Riddles are a game about data. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any asset, including ANANSI.
